What color shoes and jewelry can I wear with a champagne colored cocktail dress

Oh, I forgot! You asked about the jewelry too, and I only answered about the shoes and purse! The jewelry, with a dress that color can really be whatever kind of jewelry is your personal favorite. It more about the jewels than the exact color to match the dress in this case. Rubies can look beautiful (if those are your birhstone in July, and also my personal favorite), but you can go wrong with diamonds, EVER (April birthstone.) Remember, they are a girl best friend. I am a former jeweler (owned a fine jewelry store), and I have no particular reason to push one over the other, but with this color dress, the choice is really yours. You can wear pearls if you like (June birthstone), or any colored stone that coordinates nicely with your own skin tone. If you look best in warm shades, then wear reddish or golden stones and gold or bronze tone metals, but if you look better in cooler tones with your skin, then wear silver metals and bluish stones or clear stones like sapphire, turquoise or aquamarine. Pearls could work for everyone. Again, I hope this helps. Half fun in your new dress!

I have a salmon colored dress and I need to find shoes to match. What would be a good color? I also have a pastel yellow dress. What color shoes can I wear with that? Will someone please help?

I am wearing a navy blue dress to a wedding. I was thinking of wearing navy pumps w/ it and then adding some more color w/ jewelry. Now, though, I wondering, do you think I could wear brown shoes and maybe a brown beaded necklace to tie it in?

What did Fox News Lauren Sivan and Rick Leventhal dress up as for the Howl

The biggest newsmakers of the year were out in full force! Host Lucky Diamond "floated" in as the infamous "Balloon Boy," Fox News' Lauren Sivan and Rick Leventhal earned their wings as hero Captain "Sully" Sullenberger and his flight attendant, with their little dog, Spanx, as the pesky bird that caused the plane to go down. Even Eli the Chihuahua, dressed as the Pope, "blessed" us with his presence!

Everyone from Scooby Doo to Princess Fiona to Elvis had a tail-wagging good time at Animal Fair's 9th Annual Howloween Costume Party, which benefited the Humane Society of New York. Pup was one of the most talked about canines of the "pawty!"

Even Michael Jackson made an appearance just in time for the release of This Is It!

Some of the other big winners this year included a doggie duo dressed as Snoopy and Woodstock, who made a big entrance in a little airplane, a 70's Guido dog who took the "honor" of "Most Tasteless," Jane Pontarelli's little Maltese was a "diva dog" dressed in a $1000 bright red Kleinfeld's dog wedding dress that could rival Mariah Carey, a "baby" being carried in a pouch by his "daddy," a flashy showgirl - I should say showdog and Luigi, a tiny punk rocker, complete with a little pink Mohawk, who arrived with his parent, Mary of Rescue Ink.

We were also treated to an appearance by Marie Antoinette and her yummy doggie "cakes," as well as Stephanie and Ira Churnick with their pup as a Native American family, going the whole nine yards with headdresses and moccasins. Also getting cultural was Caroline Lieberman and her furry friend, Maharajah Mumbai as an Indian prince and princess. The fashionable dog arrived decked out in a traditional Indian tunic, pants, jewelry and even a turban!

The winner of this year's raffle was a pint-sized pooch named Porsche and her human parent, Grace Foster, both decked out as Shrek's bride, Princess Fiona. They both seemed to have an "ogre"-whelmingly good time!

What Colors Will Suit Your Miniature Schnauzer

If you are tired of hearing people say, "Isn't he cute?" about your little girl, then consider a pretty, feminine pink. Pink bows are good for a girl, or a pink t-shirt with "princess" written on it will dispel all doubt. If you want people to know that your baby is a boy, then think of a blue outfit with matching blue leash.

Blue is also a good color for white schnauzers. Think of crisp white clouds against a blue sky. For a bold, modern look, a black sweater is dramatic against your white Miniature Schnauzer's fur. If your Miniature Schnauzer is brown, think of fall colors. Brown goes well with dark green, orange and gold. For a black Miniature Schnauzer, red can be dramatic. Like white miniature Schnauzers, gray Schnauzers do well in blue.

If your Miniature Schnauzer is multi-colored, think of which colors will show most when he or she is wearing clothes. If the dog is wearing a turtleneck sweater, for instance, his or her head and legs will show, so work with the colors of the head and neck. For winter, a blue turtleneck sweater is cute on a white dog. A darker dog might wear red and green for Christmas. Try a red and green sweater with red or green matching booties and hat. Bows can be color coordinated with the fur on your dog's head. If a sweater's neckline comes up only to the neck, then find a color that goes well with the color of your dog's neck.

Some dog owners like to dress themselves and their dogs in matching outfits. This can be achieved simply or more elaborately. A simple way is to tie colored hair bows into your dog's fur and wear a matching shirt or blouse. A white dog can wear black bows while his or her human wears black pants, a white top, and perhaps a black jacket. A more elaborate way might be to dress your brown Miniature Schnauzer in a green sweater with gold bows while you wear a brown, green and gold sweater. Even if your colors do not match, you won't want them to clash, so don't wear your purple outfit if your Miniature Schnauzer is wearing orange.

For holidays you can coordinate your outfit with your dog's with contrasting holiday colors. Dress your dog in yellow and yourself in lavender for Easter, or wear silver and dress your Miniature Schnauzer in blue for Hanukkah.

School colors and team colors are also fun for dog's clothes. Pet supply stores frequently sell t-shirts and sweaters in the local teams' colors. If you live far from your old school or your old hometown, try the internet, or if you sew or knit, you can make something for your dog. Use the same cloth or yarn for your clothes and your dog's, so you can be sure of an exact match.

For a party, you can decorate in your favorite colors or colors coordinated with the theme of the party, and dress your dog in the same colors as the decorations for a cute look. Use your imagination and you can come up lots of fun, colorful outfits to suite your Miniature Schnauzer.

What do you think of NYC ban on super sized soft drinks

I think the ban is great, in that now perhaps children will not be gulping down mass amounts of high sugar content soda pop loaded with caffeine. Caffeine is a drug so why is it so easy for children to obtain? The problem is nobody wants the government in their kitchen but the government doesn want to keep shelling out money for these programs intended to educated people to a better healthier way of life. Health care for people is astronomical especially since certain types of long term illnesses are avoidable if only people would take better care of their bodies.

Education has always been key in changing behavior but that education can only go so far because marketing and fast food restaurants do not back up that education. Places like fast food restaurants should raise the price of soda pop and lower the price of milk, all natural fruit juices and bottled water should be free. These kinds of changes will have a greater effect on the average individual who is going to treat their family.

I agree with Animal_World that people have lost their sense of self control. People have given up their common sense and look to marketers and governments to tell them what they should or shouldn eat. This is evident every time a "new" diet hits the information super highway.

The helmet is just a standard piece of equipment. You expected to have some sort of cover on any time you outdoors (your hat most of the time, but a helmet if you out in the field or training). At least with me, the first couple times I put my helmet on, it felt like I gotten a bowling ball wrapped around my head, because it was very thick and heavy, but eventually you get used to it. I was in Army ROTC, and in addition to the basic clothing, we were issued an equipment belt that included a pair of suspenders (they have a purpose, I just not sure what) and a couple small packs for extra ammo, a first aid kit, odds and ends (a notepad, pen, flashlight, compass) and two canteen pouches. We were also given canteens for those pouches, of course. We had a large duffel (about 3 H x 1.5 W) full of equipment, including a foam bedroll, a sleeping bag, tent stakes and rope, a large plastic tarp/poncho, rain pants and jacket, a smaller duffel, a backpack, and I don remember what else. We were also issued Class As (dress uniforms) and exercise clothes (Army shirts, shorts, and long pants). I would suggest going to a local Army Surplus store if you can, because they have a lot of equipment there, and you can familiarize yourself with what available. And, might I add, thank you for being willing to join the National Guard and to serve our country. You got at least one person here who appreciates it. I was in ROTC for a semester but wasn able to continue because I had other classes that interfered with it, and even though I didn contract, I got to be around those who had chosen to, as well as the colonel and the major who are both active Guard members (the major was just deployed to Kosovo last month, actually), and I got the deepest respect for those who choose to join.

What Color Shawl with a Red Dress

With the increasing popularity of shawls, different color combination introduced by fashion designer for the eases of fashion lovers. The fashion industry has innovative ideas for accessories, from fun and crazy to serious to seductive. Every girl''s dream is to become prom queen, or at least to get as much attention to themselves as they can during this momentous occasion. What better dress to wear to achieve this effect than to wear a stunningly elegant red dress?

Red conveys power, stability, security and strength, that is why celebrities and even business people have their wardrobes evolving to this color. If you want to convey the same sense of confidence then a red dress is definitely for you, and would definitely make you stand out from the crowd and draw attention to yourself.

The only thing remaining is to choose the accessories that would enhance your dress and your look even more and you can do this with a matching shawl. Then you''re left with another question to ask yourself: what color shawl can I wear with a red dress?

The answer to this question lies in what manner you would like your shawl to complement your red dress. The color and the type of material for your shawl could either make your red dress stand out even more, or it can subdue the color and tone it down a little bit so you won''t act like a walking sign with big bold "look at me" letters painted for everyone to see.

If you really want to look sexy in red and be the center of attention, then wear a fur or woolen shawl in red, black or silver that would definitely enhance your red dress more. If you''ve managed to trim down a little before the prom, then you can have the dress cut to perfect fit and together with the shawls, they can really enhance your figure more which could really catapult you into attention stage.

If your intent is just to look good in red, even in a more conservative cut and style, then you can use linen, silk or other lightweight shawls in grey or neutral colors that would tone down the color of your dress a bit, so you won''t end up like a screaming red billboard with all the arrow signs pointing directly at you.

These selections can help you answer the perennial question "what color shawl can I wear with a red dress?" but at the same time, these can also complement what you are wearing quite well. The black pashmina shawls also make a great choice, they are available in a variety of looks.

What Do You Wear For Working Out In The Gym

Dress CodeCheck with your gym to determine if a dress code is in place. The facility may restrict particular types of clothing. For example, the dress code may state that a sports bra alone is not acceptable in the gym. Common dress code points include wearing a shirt that completely covers the back and stomach, no ripped clothing, shorts of a minimum length and clothing without offensive sayings. Footwear is often a part of the dress code. The gym wants specific athletic shoes to avoid damage to their flooring and equipment.

TopsPlain cotton t-shirts will work for the gym, but cotton stays wet with sweat, making you feel uncomfortable as you exercise. Look for workout shirts that say they are "sweat-wicking," which means they pull the moisture from the sweat away from your body. You won't feel as wet during a long, sweaty workout. Tight-fitting tops are less likely to flap up and show off parts of your body you want to keep covered. Test the shirt you choose to make sure you can move your arms and upper body freely so it doesn't restrict your workout. Sleeveless and short-sleeved shirts are generally used for exercise. what color should my bridesmaid dresses be

I not sure if it would look appropriate but I think some off white dresses with some pink ( the same as your dress) designs or little flowers on them, i think that would be very beautiful.

or you could have another pastel color on them that would go with pink maybe pastel blue, pastel yellow, pastel green or pastel purple, i don know what your other colors are going to be but maybe one of them colors will look nice on the other dresses.

I really hope these ideas help you it going to be a wonderful wedding good luck best wishes for the both of you

my aunt told me when i got married, when you argue with your husband or have problems don go telling the whole world because you both will make up and they will remember all these things you said while you were mad but when you both make up you guys will be happy again and the other people will remember what happened. The same goes for you, that was the best advise I got, and I did that ! But you know don take no abuse, you know what I mean!

What do you think of black bridesmaids dresses

that black dresses during the summer are a little bit much, regardless of the length. In my opinion, lighter colours are more appropriate for summer weddings.

There can be exceptions, however. A friend of mine had a September wedding, and her attendants wore long black evening dresses. She didn't want to have them spend money on a dress that they would never wear again, so her only stipulation was that it was black and for evening wear, the style was their choice. None of the other women at the wedding wore black, so it wasn't overkill. I also think it depends on the type of person the bride is. I would describe her as quirky, it was held in an art gallery, the reception was held in the same space, she and her husband made up their own cocktails for the wedding, the cake was incredibly funky, frosted in three layers, with a different colour and flavour for each layer. Her wedding was just so "her", and the black dresses went well with the entire evening.

When I got married, my going away dress was a black sheath with a red jacket over the top. My mother was in two minds about it for the reasons you stated. When I was a kid and went to family weddings, nobody wore black, especially not the women, because, as you said, black is appropriate to be worn at funerals. The only time a woman wore black at a wedding would be if she was in mourning for a close, recently deceased relative.

I went to a bridal shower a few years ago where the bride-to-be and all her bridesmaids wore black dresses and it was in the Springtime!

I know that black and white dress colors for a wedding are popular but I don't like the concept at all.

First of all, black is a color of mourning; it is also a very sophisticated color - meant for nightclubs and slinkly dresses.

A wedding should be sweet and happy. Bright colors and a white wedding dress send a message of celebration to everyone: This is a wonderful event; two people have pledged their lives to one another and want to share their joy with family and friends.

I've observed that brides want to look elegant and sophisticated to impress their relatives and friends, but what they don't realize is that a wedding is an occasion for family members to see each other and catch up on family news and reminisce about days gone by. They don't really care if the bride is elegant or dressed in the latest chic dress; they just want to see her and congratulate her and the bridegroom and wish them well.

I love color. Of course if you work in a corporate env that different, but for the most part I love color.

My bridesmaid dresses were eggplant (I love purple) and I remember some of my friends mentioning that a lot of previous weddings they were in their bridesmaid dress was black. I thought to myself, how boring and everyone always wears black. How many weddings or other fancy occasions do you see almost all of the women wearing a black dress? This is what everyone wears. A main reason why (you guys probably know this) is b/c black makes people look thinner. And of course this will make them look more flattering. But never would I ever have my bridesmaid wear black. I also associate black with a funeral. I do wear black sometimes when going out (I live right near New York City) so if we go to a bar, or a club (which we rarely do but that another story) I usually wear a blank tight top and jeans.

If anyone is interested here's a pic of the dress my bridesmaids wore. This is an interactive website so in the color chart to the left of the dress you have to click on the eggplant square and then the dress will come up in eggplant.

First of all, I do not like the thought of black dresses on anyone at a wedding, but if the bride and groom want that at their wedding, I am not opposed. I would be opposed if they wore nothing or sheer see through things, but black is ok if that is what they prefer. Again, not for me. In the olden days you are right, it was said that it was bad taste to wear black to weddings, but let's face it. in the olden days, you did not wear white unless you were a Virgin. I am sure there are still a lot of virgins getting married who wear white, but I am also sure that a lot of girls/women wearing white are NOT Virgins also. Times have changed. All changes are not good. Some are okay and others you just gotta live with.

To answer your question, you are not being old fashioned, it is just what you like and believe is all. I was raised that I was only to marry one person for the rest of my life and this is my third marriage and you know what ? I still believe I am to be married to one person for the rest of my life.

What do you think of the new trend of wedding dresses with color on them

I have never worn white as a bride. In fact I am trying to think when white as a traditional brides colour became I can remember descriptions of weddings from various writings up until (I think) mid 1800 and brides wore colour then. I think that white became fashionable because it is supposed to symbolise purity/virginity, which of course shouldn mean anything today. (I mean it shouldn matter to anyone except the bride and groom if virginity is an issue).

In medieval times I think any colour was acceptable, in fact brides dressed as richly as possible to show and encourage prosperity and red was a popular colour,

Is there a site that i can preview different colors of wedding dresses befor i assume my color will look okay and order it and find out its not what i expected?

My daughter is getting married and while browsing wedding sites I came upon a site called Maternity Bride.(no shes not pg) They sell WHITE designer maternity wedding dresses and the brides look 8 months along. What do you think about this?

I find this new "tradition" of trashing wedding dresses to be obscene. If you don't want it, donate it! What are your thoughts?

What is the difference between V-neck wedding dresses and round neck wedding dresses?

Who traditionally pays for the wedding party dresses? Specifically, who is supposed to pay for the bride maids dresses, the maid of honor dress, and the flower girl dress?

What Exactly Is Wedding Photography

To several wedding ceremony clients, this might seem a strange issue to pose, because in fact, wedding photography need to be, by definition, photography taken in your wedding ceremony day. Perfectly sure it truly is, naturally. But these kinds of a straightforward point of view glosses through simply how much wedding photography has changed while in the final fifteen many years; and certainly, even these days why it indicates a single thing to one wedding couple and a completely distinctive thing to another.

In 2009, nearly all wedding friends own a digicam capable of making well-exposed photographs at incredibly minor charge. Hence the digital revolution has meant the purpose of the professional marriage ceremony photographer has needed to transform substantially. Additional importantly, technological improvements have offered photographers the versatility and empowerment to offer some thing radically various. This has attracted different variety of individuals in to the occupation and resulted in the standard standard of wedding photography enhancing appreciably compared to prior generations. At their pretty ideal, marriage ceremony photographers offer spectacular photographs that inform a narrative within a extremely inventive, flattering and evocative manner.

My watch is that weddings are not often suited to only just one type. Photographers will generally should draw on many skill-sets all through the day. Photographers can not for example, commence posing couples - or consult them to move to a superior mild - all through the marriage ceremony. Similarly, it's very unusual for the couple not to hope some pictures inside a formal framework which reveals them in their ideal light. As well as the most modern day of weddings will still have got a number of traditional loved ones shots.

Numerous photographers will certainly excel in one variety of talent through the other and certainly emphasise and market place it. I frequently explain my very own model as classical using a style edge, although I have to depend on a mixture of genres - such as reportage - in the course of the day. I emphasise the significance of directed photography, simply because, inside the pretty restricted time scales of a marriage ceremony, I believe that it is vital to shell out at the very least thirty minutes partially directing/posing the couple away from the awareness of the guests. The key goal for me here is to offer the couple flattering, fantastic art pictures which they will probably under no circumstances have taken all over again.

At the time you are very clear on aspirations, analyzing photographers' galleries for superior and design is way far more vital than descriptive labels as we now have experienced. But galleries just represent the photographer's very best work, so it is very important to also ask to find out entire weddings to test for consistency and to see how the fashion translates itself into your distinct requirements with the day. Wedding ceremony partners and attendees usually are not on the photograph shoot, but there to celebrate the day and social gathering, so it might be unrealistic to hope a complete set of pictures from a single wedding ceremony to look similar to the photographer's portfolio!

What do People Wear at Swinger Parties

We have been running swinger clubs and organising swinger parties for twelve years now and probably the most common question we get asked by newcomers contemplating attending their first swinger party is, 'What do Swingers Wear?'

This question is usually based on the popular misconception that swinger parties are like fetish parties where everyone wears outrageous costumes to match a party theme or a personal fetish. Although it is true that a few swinger parties do have themes where some sort of fantasy dress code might operate, the vast majority do not.

Concerns about what people wear can also be based on an alternative misconception. This is that swingers take their clothes off the minute they arrive at a party and only put them back on when they are ready to leave. In reality most swingers are not naturists and have as much fear of public nudity as the average person does. The only parties where disrobing from the outset occurs is at parties held in naturist spas but even at these, guests are more likely to wrap themselves in towels than walk around in the buff.

In general, the male guests who attend swinger parties will be dressed in exactly the same way as they would for a friend s birthday party or other similar party type event. In other words, they will wear smart casual clothes.

Although ladies are encouraged to consider wearing sexy lingerie, many do not and the safest bet for them is take something to change into when they feel confident to do so. To illustrate how normal the female dress code at a typical party can be, we often point out that what some women wear at a night club is often more skimpy or sexually provocative than standard swinger party apparel.

Apart from the special themed swinger parties and parties held in naturist spas, the only other type of swinger party event that presents a special case with regards to what to wear, are parties that have a formal dress code. These are very few and far between and tend to be organised by groups of swingers who operate in an exclusive membership circle of select friends. If you do get the chance to attend such a party, the dress code will be clearly spelt out on your invitation. A Black Tie invitation requires men to wear tuxedos and women to wear cocktail dresses or dressy evening separates. One exclusive swinger dinner party group has a black tie dress code for males and lingerie or nudity for females. Quite a theme!

But the majority of swinger parties are not like that and the only really essential dress requirement is that you feel comfortable in whatever you decide to wear. In a nutshell attending a swinger party isn t really that much different to attending most other types of party.

What Does The Perfect Wedding Dress Look Like

When everyone's attention is on the bride, it is important for her to look her best. Choosing the perfect wedding dress is vital in capturing the bride's elegance and beauty. With all the selections available it can sometimes be hard to decide where to start in selecting that perfect wedding gown. Before one can know exactly what it is they are looking for in a wedding dress, it can be important to understand where some of the modern traditions in popular styles originated from, in order to help make an educated selection.

Prior to modern times, elegant weddings were held for the prestigious and were mostly arranged marriages. Therefore, the bride and grooms were often looked upon as symbols of the wealth of the family. Because of this, it was thought important for the bride to be adorned with as much glamour and trinkets as possible. Wedding gowns came in many colors and styles and the more large and grand the size of the dress; the more beautiful it was considered. Many of the styles that the wealthy wore were imitated throughout the various ranks of the social classes, but it was hard for lower class citizens to even have a formal ceremony as income was sparse. Instead woman would wear church attire as cheap wedding dresses.

As time moved on the styles began to change with the culture. But the trend of the rich setting the styles seemed to stay the same. It wasn't until the year 1840 that the white wedding dress was made popular by Queen Victoria. Up until that point dresses were commonly various colors, but the Queen looked so beautiful in her dress that it set a new trend that in a lot of cases carries over to this day and age.

Today tastes are much broader, but it is still important to consider things such as cost and popularity when selecting a dress for that special day. If the budget is willing a designer dress may be the way to go, but it is also important to consider location. A designer dress wouldn't make much sense to wear outdoors at say a beach wedding. Instead a beautiful beach wedding dress would be more appropriate. These tend to be higher cut dresses with less fabric and are perfect for that Caribbean wedding.

Not going to the beach, but still plan on having an outdoor or casual service? Informal wedding dresses are a perfect solution for not having to worry about dragging your expensive designer dress through the dirt or mud. Modest wedding gowns are available in all designs, colors, and sizes and are perfect for any budget. Wedding dresses are as diverse as the brides themselves. Plus size wedding gowns, custom jewelry, and select accessories are readily available.

Not spending as much on a dress can leave money for an exciting honey moon and many may not think spending a lot on a designer dress is practical for a dress that will only be worn once. Others still might want a dress that can be passed down from one generation to the next so going that extra mile on a dress just might seem worth it. What ever it is you're looking for chances are that you can find the right dress for you.

what do I wear when the invitation says attire Tuxedo

I have always understood black tie to be tuxedo and formal to mean nice suit and tie, but I think a lot of it depends on where you live, too. Personally, formal to me still means a very nice suit and tie. That being said, I did find this information that states you should wear a tux. I would definitely ask around and find out what others are planning to wear to your event before making a final decision!

Black Tie, Formal, Dressy Casual and More!

Formal usually means the same as Black Tie, but in some trendier cities like New York or Los Angeles, it could mean a black shirt, no tie with a tux. Women wear cocktail, long dresses or dressy evening separates.

A White Tie or Ultra-formal invitation requires men wear full dress, with white tie, vest, shirt.

Black Tie Optional

A Black Tie Optional or Black Tie Invited gives you the option of wearing a tuxedo or formal dress, but it should clue you into the formality of the event, meaning a dark suit and tie would be your other option. Women wear cocktail, long dresses or dressy evening separates.

Creative Creative Black Tie leaves room for trendy interpretations of formal wear. He can go more modern with a tux -- maybe a black shirt, no tie. She wears long or short dresses or evening separates.

Sometimes, themed parties call for dress codes like Texas Black Tie or other variations of Creative Black Tie. In that situation, you can have more fun with it, choosing a dressy look with a theme (for him, it could be a tux with boots and for her it could be a long dress paired with Southwestern style silver belt and jewelry).

Semi-Formal

Semi-Formal or After Five means that tuxes are not required, nor are long dresses. An evening wedding (after 6 PM) would still dictate dark suits for him, and a cocktail dress for her. Daytime semi-formal events mean a suit for him and an appropriate short dress or dressy suit for her.

Business Formal is the same as Semi-Formal for him, but for women it suggests that women opt for more tailored dressy suits and dresses (nothing too slinky or sexy).

Cocktail Attire

Cocktail Attire means short, elegant dresses for her and dark suits for him.

Informal

Informal is often interpreted as the same as Casual but it actually calls for the same dress as Semi-Formal -- dark suits for him, short dresses for her -- especially when associated with a wedding or special event.

Festive Attire

Casual

Dressy Casual calls for dressed-up versions of casual looks. For him, it could be trousers and a sportcoat, for her a dressy pants look. Jeans, shorts, T-shirts and other casual looks are not appropriate for Dressy Casual.

What Every Bride Should Know Before Shopping For A Wedding Dress

Shopping for the dress that you will be getting married in is an exciting experience for any bride. However, it can also be a daunting one. The majority of brides have no experience in this field, and even those who have been married before may be looking for something completely different this time around. While you have probably done some of your homework already, flicked through a seemingly endless pile of wedding magazines, and received some advice from your mother, there are a few things you may want to consider before embarking on your odyssey in search of the perfect gown.

Your Budget

Before you start shopping have your budget worked out. Figure out the maximum amount you are willing to spend on your dress and try to stick to it. Slight deviations from your budget may be acceptable, but this really depends on your own personal circumstances. It may be that if your dream dress costs a little more than you can afford but you absolutely must have it, you will need to make cut backs on another aspect of your wedding. Alternatively you may have to opt for another dress that fits within your budget or perhaps rent your wedding dress. While renting your wedding dress may seem like a sensible option (after all you will only be wearing the dress for one day), you may wish to think again. Some brides who decide to rent their wedding dress develop an attachment to it, and often regret their decision when it comes to giving it back.

Your Equipment

Having little or no experience at shopping for a wedding dress, knowing what to take along with you can certainly be tricky. While many salons supply accessories to their customers, there are a few items that you should definitely make sure you have with you when shopping for your wedding dress. A strapless bra is an essential, your choice of dresses are not limited to those with straps, and you are more than likely to wear something strapless on your wedding day anyway. Even if you have not decided on your bridal lingerie yet, and you probably haven't, take along some underwear that is similar to what you think you might to wear on the day. The same goes for your shoes. Wedding shoes are frequently chosen after your dress, but why not take along a pair (or a few pairs) similar to the style you envisage yourself wearing on your wedding day. Any accessories you already have decided upon should also be taken along.

Your Wedding

Wedding dresses come in a variety of shapes and sizes, with styles to suit different styles of wedding. A dress that may be perfect for a large ultra-formal wedding may look out of place at a more informal event and vice-versa. You will need to have your wedding style sussed before you can seriously start thinking about the type of wedding dress you want to wear. With this firmly in your mind, make sure you communicate your expectations for your wedding style and atmosphere to the consultant at the bridal salons you visit. Using this information they should be able to guide you towards a selection of dresses in stock.

Your Entourage

So you think you are ready to start shopping? Now who should you take with you when shopping for your wedding dress? You may think that the more different opinions you can get the better. While for some people, several different points of view can be helpful but for most people it can all get a little too confusing. Generally the fewer people you take along with you when shopping for your wedding dress the better. Take one or two of your most trusted friends or family members along with you, listen to their advice, but do not let it stop you from making your own decisions. After all it is your wedding, and you will want to look and feel great in a dress you like. After the first round of consultations at bridal salons, you will hopefully have narrowed down your choices to a few dresses. You may even be in the privileged position of having fallen in love with just one dress. Now is the time to bring other people in. Get advice from your mother, your bridesmaids, and other gal pals to help you make your final decision and choose and alterations and accessories.

While this may seem like a lot of information to take in, shopping for a wedding dress is definitely a lot of fun. Keep an open mind and a positive attitude, and you should find the one special dress sooner than you think.

What did Ivanka Trump get from Donald Trump when they divorced

Ivanka is the daughter of Ivana and Donald Trump.

Although the settlement remains sealed by the courts it is rumored that Ivana received $20 million, the $14 million family estate in Connecticut, a $5 million housing allowance, $350,000 annual alimony, all of her jewelry and 49% of Mar-A-Lago, the family home in Palm Beach which also serves as a private club for the Palm Beach elite.

Not long after her divorce from Trump, Ivana married Riccardo Mazzucchelli. The marriage did not make it to its second anniversary. Trump filed a $15 million breach of contract suit against Mazzucchelli for violating the confidentiality clause in their prenuptial agreement. The suit was settled out of court.

Actually, Ivana Trump divorced Donald. Ivanka is their daughter. It was around 1990 that Ivana heard some rumors regarding her husband's affair. She later then confront Marla Maples during her vacation in the Aspens and that led to her divorce petition in 1991. Using this as her advantage, she filed for a settlement that would get her quite a sum from the Trump family fortune, but the Trump would never go down without a fight. After a vicious haggling within the two sides, they were able to arrive at a settlement after the untimely death of Ivana's father due to heart attack where the Trumps stood with Ivana on the day of the burial. Ivana was able to get $20 Million from the Trumps, along with a $14 million estate, and some other assets from the Trump organization. If the affair was never found out, or never existed, Donald and Ivana trump might still be enjoying a happy and lavish life. But as all lies are borne to be revealed, the affair sparked the dissention between the couple that led to quite a loss from the Trump family.

What does it mean when someone says the dress code is

I never heard of "Valley Formal" before, so this must be a term that was made up by businesses, corporations, or people who don originate from Silicon Valley. If you in any company that requires a dress code in the Valley, that means the parent company or HQ must be from the East Coast, or the managing higher ups have an "East Coast dress code" mindset.

You not going to find many companies that originated from the Valley requiring a "dress code" at all; that concept doesn even exist. Your wear jeans when it cold, and shorts when it hot. That pretty much the "dress code" in the Valley. In other words, nobody cares what you wear to work, as most engineers pretty talk more the beauty of code, rather than the beauty of work fashion. That is of course, unless you a sales/marketing person, a lawyer, real estate agent, etc., who require you to wear a formal suit.

My guess is that you saw this on an Event invite? Most folks are answering about day-to-day dress code. As they say, if you find a valley company with a dress code, run away screaming.

I have, however, seen invites to specific events which use terminology like "valley formal". I, personally, interpret it to mean something like slacks and a polo (or button down shirt). Basically I make sure that I have shoes and long pants. :)

It is also very true that your dress depends upon your role. As an Engineer/Engineering Manager, I can get away with much more casual dress than the Sales guy.

What eyeshadow goes best with a light pink dress

A makeup artist once told me me not to match your makeup with your outfit. Your makeup should complement your skintone, and not your dress. However, since your dress is a light color, you probably shouldn use the dark tones that you are accostomed to, as they would be too much of a contrast. I would suggest natural pastel or shimmer tones in a shade of lilac, light brown, or rose that goes well with your skintone. You might also want to try out a virtual makeover game. They allow you to upload an image of yourself, and try on different shades of makeup. Marie Claire website has a nice virtual makeover.

What famous celebrity would you diagnose clinically for any mental disorder

Although it is a popular past time to diagnose people in the public eye, clinically/professionally the practice is highly suspect. One should not diagnose people who we do not know, who we have not personally interviewed. It amounts to throwing a negative diagnosis at someone we do not like, or with whom we strongly disagree politically, occupationally, socially or with regard to their lifestyles. Any use of our diagnostic training to diagnose public personalities or for that matter, historical figures, is a misuse of that tool.

I know this is an inadequate answer, but I think most very badly behaving celebrities, unless their behavior is solely related to substance abuse, probably suffer from a combination of some of the features found on Axis II, Cluster B of the DSM IV TR. However, I would hesitate to diagnose someone I saw in my office with a personality disorder based on the current diagnostic criteria, much less a distant celebrity, so I prefer to discuss traits.

I see histrionic features, narcissistic features, antisocial features, borderline features . well, it obvious that I think nearly the whole spectrum can apply. And as someone above shrewdly said, it seems to come with the territory.

This will be no surprise in itself, but I think many of us will be glad when that whole cluster is revised in DSM V. There is so much overlap, and so many garbage-can diagnoses (just read a recent colloquy I saw here on Quora about Borderline Personality Disorder, and how "no personality disorder is ever treatable.")

She had shaved her own head and the media came up with a variety of reasons including drug abuse, depression etc.

It was terrifying to see a beautiful singer on tv suffering to that extent. She probably went through a lot of intolerable levels of hardship that lead to outragous behaviour.

Diagnosing her it would be bipolar, usually a person with bipolar goes from one stage to another and may cause a melt down for a period of time. They would be obsessed with one thing and completely

What do i wear under my wedding dress

On One Hand: Bridal Lingerie Should Be AppealingWearing bras, panties or body shapers under your wedding gown that are the same color or material as the dress can make the bride feel beautiful and confident. This attractive lingerie can also accent the shape of the dress and improve the look of the bride's silhouette. Lace accents or beaded trim are common in wedding undergarments.

On the Other: Undergarments Should Be ComfortableWhile most brides will want the lingerie they wear for their wedding be pretty and appealing, comfort should be priority. Bras, corsets and underwear will have to provide the bride with support without being too tight or too loose. Beading and additional wires can also make the undergarments uncomfortable. The bride should keep in mind that she will have to wear the lingerie all day--before the wedding for pictures, during the actual ceremony and at the reception.

Bottom LineThe underwear and lingerie that brides wear under their wedding dresses should be comfortable and provide adequate support. Finding undergarments that offer support and are appealing to the eye is ideal.

What do you think the top five basic pieces of clothing a woman should have in her closet beyond und

Purely my personal ideas but I think all women should have:

-Low heeled (1-3 inches) knee high boots - look good smart, casual and can be used for work and parties. Reasonably warm and comfortable but still look sexy.

-At least one fitted shirt. Women of the world would look a lot better if only they stop wearing baggy stuff designed for men, and wear things that followed the lines of their body. It doesn have to be any less comfortable to be a lot more attractive.

- fitted sweater. ditto. you can be warm without looking like a yeti.

- At least one truly fabulous party dress in a luxury fabric that suits your body shape perfectly and makes you feel a million dollars. Even if you only wear it for a meal out a few times a year.

- Something that isn black. Please!! Women hide in black too much and there are very few people it actually suits. When you wear black you fade away into the background - be bold and wear turquoise or pink or red for once. See how it makes you feel. See who the woman everybody noticing in the bar is!

Men I think should all have:

- A suit. All men look good in them - it a scientific fact. You have to pick one that works for you colour and shape wise - but once you found it - your sex appeal somehow increases tenfold.

- Levi 501s. In fact women should have them too. They just the coolest jeans ever. It saves the hassle of spending hours choosing.

- scarf. This may just be a personal thing - but there something about a scarf that I think gives even the biggest beer lout a slightly preppy, intellectual look. It pulls everything together and makes it look like you actually put effort into what you wearing, just in one simple step.

- A shirt that isn white or Hawaiian print. For work something that in a classy colour like blue, or burgundy, will give you a sense of personality, stop you from looking like another faceless "suit" and make you stand out - without being self-conciously eccentric.

- White t-shirts. Worn with the 501 - much classier for casual than anything with a Budweiser logo. It a look that says Marlon Brando and James Dean - and it works however old you are or whatever your body shape.

I have a few expensive handbags and shoes that all have gold pieces. However, most of my clothing has silver pieces (buttons, buckles, etc). Is a faux pas to pair clothing accessories w/silver pieces with shoes and handbags that have gold pieces?

What men's clothing do women think is sexy? Speedo? A nice suit? Form fitting slacks and shorts? Commando? (no underwear), or nude?

There is a clothing store in San Francisco. The owner has devised his own method of pricing items. A vest costs $20, socks cost $25, a tie costs $15 and a blouse costs $30. Using the method, how much would a pair of underwear cost?

Ron Price, a Dallas school board member, has asked the City Council to look at strenghtening a law to go after people who wear baggy pants and expose their underwear. Do you think that councils and schools should be able to enforce a clothing code?

If a woman is serious about marriage to a man, but they live in different states, and the man wants the woman to move to his state for a very good reason, should she allow him to help pay for her apartment rent or clothing, etc. before they are married?

What color was Katherine Heigl dress the day of her infamous wardrobe malfunction

The incident took place late last week while the 29 year old musical artist was enthralling the audiences at Manchester Man Arena when all of a sudden she became the victim of a rather embarrassing wardrobe malfunction.

Katherine Jenkins' onstage boob flash

March 14th, 2010 LONDON - Singer Katherine Jenkins ended up revealing more than she intended during a performance at Manchester MEN Arena. Sources reveal that the Baywatch star became a victim of wardrobe malfunction as the white gown that she was wearing at the event slipped from her shoulder exposing her cleavage way to much.

LONDON - Instead of a big round of applause, Katherine Heigl was the centre of audience's stares when she went on to receive a trophy at a recent award function, courtesy an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction. he strap on the former 'Grey's Anatomy' star's red dress broke when she was on stage at the ShoWest awards ceremony in Las Vegas.

The 31-year-old actress was accepting the Female Star of the Year award at Thursday's ceremony, which is the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners.

And when Heigl started to thank the large audience, one of her straps broke, leaving the shocked actress struggling to hold up the dress and cover her modesty.

However, the sporting actress continued undeterred, and managed to say her thanks, but asked the host, Billy Bush to help hold up the strap, reports the Telegraph.

What dis Morehouse College recently do to their dress code

Morehouse College, an all-male private university in Atlanta, is making headlines today for its controversial new campus-wide clothing standards. Recently released, the "Appropriate Attire Policy" marks a number of clothing items that will no longer be accepted attire at the historically black university. Included in the lineup are a few of the usual suspects (no hats, hoods, do-rags, sunglasses or offensive clothing in class), a few less common culprits ("decorative orthodontic appliances", sagging pants, pajamas or bare feet), and then the one that's getting all the attention: "No wearing of clothing associated with women's garb (dresses, tops, tunics, purses, pumps, etc.) on the Morehouse campus or at College-sponsored events."

While Morehouse is defending their new policy as a measure to protect the school's reputation and legacy - past alumni include Martin Luther King Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Spike Lee, Maynard Jackson, among others - many find the new dress code to be homophobic and discriminatory to the school's gay population. This perception has been further strengthened after Dr. William Bynum, the school's Vice President of Student Services, had this to say, "We are talking about five students who are living a gay lifestyle that is leading them to dress a way we do not expect in Morehouse men."

Morehouse College, that legendary institution of higher learning in Atlanta, recently enacted a new dress code for its all-male student body. The dress code, called the "Appropriate Attire Policy," is a perfect example of the good, the bad, and even worse, the homophobic.

The policy - based on Morehouse President Dr. Robert M. Franklin's notion of the Renaissance Man - is part of his "Five Wells" strategy for the all-male historically black college or university which includes being "well read, well spoken, well traveled, well dressed and well balanced."

In an 11-point document, Morehouse outlined its expectations concerning the appearance of its students on campus. For example, the college forbids the wearing of do-rags, caps and hoods in classrooms and other indoor venues.
