SAN FRANCISCO - Remember how Cinderella's fairy godmother magically transformed her from pauper to princess with the gift of a gown? Eight girls, members of the San Francisco Boys Girls Club and winners of the organization's 2008 Youth of the Year Award, experienced a similar makeover last month. Each girl, selected for her outstanding community service and leadership, was gifted a brand-new designer gown donated by Diamond Bridal Gallery.

The honored teen recipients appeared at the May 6 Legends Dreams Celebration in their new dresses-but that's not the only place they were intended to wear them. These deserving students had another big event coming up: prom.

"We know how important a gown is in helping girls feel beautiful," says Seniya Petra, manager of Diamond Bridal Gallery. "We feel privileged to have participated with the Boys Club of America to help make girls' prom dreams come true. One of the girls who received one our gowns had never put on a dress in her life. She was so surprised at how beautiful she was!"

What does Black attire mean

It is usually referred to as Black Tie as follows:

Black tie

"Black tie" in other words means formal clothing. Men need to wear black tuxedo, formal (pleated front) white shirt, black bow tie, black socks and shoes, no gloves. Women have to wear formal long evening dress, short cocktail dress or dressy evening separates.

Black tie optional

A "black tie optional" gives two options for men - wearing a tuxedo (as "black tie") or dark suit, white shirt and conservative tie. A "black tie optional" means that clothing have to be formal. Women can choose between long evening gown, cocktail dress or dressy evening separate.

"Creative black tie" gives room for interpretations of formal wear. Woman can choose from formal evening gown or short cocktail dress and any of these two can be accessorized with a feather boa, colorful shawl or colorful jewelry. Then a man can wear a tuxedo with boots, and woman can choose a long dress paired with Southwestern style jewelry and belt.

What do you do to dress cauliflower up

I make a simple marinara sauce and put cut-up pieces of cauliflower in it and simmer until done, sprinkle grated cheese on it and serve as a side dish. I have also cooked some ziti or spaghetti and put it in the marinara sauce with the cauliflower and you can serve this as a first course.

The second way is to par boil a head of cauliflower, drain it and put it in a baking dish. Put Italian seasoned breadcrumbs over it, trickle olive oil over the breadcrumbs with grated cheese, and bake in a 350-400 degree oven 1/2 hour or until tender. This is a very tasty side dish with meat.

You can also par boil the cauliflower in pieces, coat them with egg, dip them in flour seasoned with salt, pepper and paprika or seasoned breadcrumbs and saute them in vegetable oil. Drain on paper towels. Enjoy!

You can make a white sauce. (butter, flour and milk) put the cooked cauliflower in a pan, cover the top with your favorite grated cheese, pour the white sauce on top, sprinkly a little paprika for color and bake.

cook in a 350 degree oven until cheese melts and everything is warm and bubbly.

We have this creamed cauliflower every Thanksgiving. It is always one of my side dishes. Any vegetable is good when you add cheese to it.

If you are watching your weight, treat the cauliflower like you would mashed potatoes. Mash the cauliflower, add a little milk and a pad of butter. Mix it all up and it will look like mashed potatoes at a fraction of the calories. I use this one all the time. it is good.

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Blanch the cauliflower for 2 minutes. Transfer the cauliflower to a buttered 9 by 13-inch baking dish and let cool, about 5 minutes.

In a small skillet over medium-high heat, brown the pancetta. Transfer to a small bowl and set aside.

In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the flour and stir until combined. Continue stirring for 2 minutes to cook the flour. Slowly add the milk, stirring continuously until the milk has incorporated and there are no lumps. Add the garlic clove and red pepper flakes and stir the sauce over low heat until the mixture coats the back of a wooden spoon. Add the Parmesan, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and the reserved pancetta. Stir to combine. Pour the sauce over the cauliflower to cover. Top with a sprinkling of bread crumbs.

Burton's work is said to have "caught Middleton's eye" when she designed an off-the-shoulder wedding dress for Sara Buys, a fashion journalist who in 2005 married Tom Parker Bowles, Camilla's son. Buys is reportedly friendly with Middleton.

Considered one of Britain's edgiest labels, a McQueen dress would be in line with Middleton's interest in fashion. On the other hand, that interest in fashion lends credence to the Daily Mail's report that Middleton designed the dress herself.

Middleton has long been interested in fashion and design. She worked for the British apparel chain Jigsaw as an accessories buyer after graduating from St. Andrews University, where she studied art history. It was at St. Andrews where she modeled in a student fashion show and reportedly caught Prince William's eye in a see-through dress.
